Our Story

How it all started is up for debate,
but what really matters, is Ken asked for a date.
Was is Jess? Was it Ken? Or perhaps a conniving friend?
Let us tell you a bit of how it all happened.

Two summers ago was the first time we met,
Throwing frisbees with friends, though nothing happened yet.
With the Fall came the start of youth ministry,
And who should be there, both he and she.

She would ask her friends when none could be found,
Who was that guy who kept coming around?
Ken Cadinouche, a boy from Mauritius,
A graphic designer, so quiet and mysterious.

Now this is the part when the conniving comes out,
Group activities and outings increased, there's no doubt.
By now a quick look from this boy to this girl,
Would make her stomach whirl, swirl, and twirl.

Good thing that what happens next in our story,
Was a movie and dinner, no more details - I'm sorry!
That day has turned out to be one of joy,
As forever began for this girl and this boy.

March, April, May, June and July,
They went to the zoo, my did time ever fly!
August, September, October, November,
They went to The Falls, what a day to remember.

The two grew and grew with each passing day,
To their God, to each other, as Christ led the way.
Now we come to December, after setting back clocks,
Some gold and a diamond, in a little blue box.

Surrounded by Christmas parcels, lay a sparkling gift,
In fourteen layers of paper for the girl to then lift.
With nine puzzle pieces, made and painted with care,
He asked 'Will you marry me? We'd make a great pair.'

Left speechless she nodded her yes with a whisper,
So excited to soon become Missus and Mister.
And so here we are, awaiting July,
We hope to then celebrate, you and I.
